At least, I couldn\u2019t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Something felt different.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Lighter\u2026 but also more intentional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And one of the first realizations I had was this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You can\u2019t keep a moment like that to yourself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hope, relief, gratitude\u2026 whatever you want to call it\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n
if you hold onto it too tightly, it fades.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It has to move.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It has to go somewhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For me, that showed up in a simple but meaningful way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I’d been unceremoniously “removed” from the only out-of-the-house time I had by losing my part-time DJ job.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
My outlook had included surgery, chemo, possibly even radiation, and a severe lack of people who appeared to want to spend time around me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I wasn\u2019t sure I even wanted to be around people again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And even though I was now to be “free” from that path, after everything I had been through, I was admittedly still carrying a lot of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But after things shifted\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n I thought about it again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n And I realized something simple.<\/p>\n\n\n\n They had been people who had been kind to me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n They had shown up for me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n And now I had the opportunity to show up for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n So I reached out\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n and I said yes to a request for doing something for someone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n And it might seem like a small thing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n But it didn\u2019t feel small.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n It felt like part of the answer<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Because doing something good for someone else, especially when you\u2019ve been given something unexpected\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n It changes you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It re-centers you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It reminds you that you\u2019re still here for a reason.<\/p>\n\n\n\n And I really believe this now:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Positivity doesn\u2019t survive in isolation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It grows when you give it away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n And sometimes\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n what you do with a miracle\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n is simply pass it on.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n Because when something that heavy lifts, you don\u2019t just go back to the way things were.
